8 innovative AgTech startups you should know

Sep 24, 2025 10:47:04 AM

RootCamp, in collaboration with DLG and Rentenbank, is once again spotlighting the future of food, farming and agriculture with the RapidFire Startup Competition, a fast-paced event at the Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Convention 2025 in Hamburg.

Each startup has just one slide and 250 seconds to pitch their idea. The audience votes for the winner, making the event interactive and engaging. The top startup receives €2,000, while all participants gain valuable exposure and networking opportunities in the AgFoodTech space.

Here are the eight startups competing in this year’s RapidFire Competition:

Revoja

REVOJA produces protein-rich, fermented soy products, meeting the demand for healthy and sustainable alternatives. The product line currently comprises three categories: yoghurt drinks, cream cheese alternatives and creamy dressings. The company pursues a zero-waste approach by fully processing the nutrient-rich by-product ‘okara’. The fermented and reduced-sugar products are specially developed for professional use and focus on taste and ease of use.

Soyle

Soyle offers software that helps farmers monitor their fields remotely and make informed decisions.Soyle uses satellite imagery and AI to monitor the health of crops, identify variations between plots and provide precise fertilisation recommendations. This enables farmers to reduce their input costs, improve product quality and time their actions perfectly – without the need for laboratory tests or field sensors. The solution is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises that do not have extensive technical equipment.

Eco:fibr

eco:fibr is an innovative startup dedicated to transforming pineapple plant residues into sustainable pulp for the paper and packaging industry. By using an environmentally friendly, chemical-free process, eco:fibr extracts pulp from pineapple leaves, which are typically discarded or burned. This solution offers an eco-conscious alternative to wood-based pulp, helping reduce environmental impact while providing economic benefits to local farmers. eco:fibr's approach addresses agricultural waste issues, contributing to a more sustainable future for both the environment and industry.

Plantilizer

Plantilizer develops biofertilizers that combine biochar with plant growth-promoting microorganisms to enhance soil health and boost crop yields. By improving soil structure, increasing water retention and reducing the need for mineral fertilizers, Plantilizer’s products offer an eco-friendly solution for farmers. Their approach is rooted in scientific research and aims to provide sustainable, high-performance solutions for modern agriculture.

MySpirulina

MySpirulina allows users to grow fresh Spirulina algae at home with ease. Through their MySpirulina Starter Kit, customers can harvest nutrient-rich Spirulina every 10 days using a simple, sustainable process. The kit includes everything needed, such as a 3-liter container, nutrient medium, and a solar-powered lid to support algae growth. Focused on sustainability, MySpirulina uses eco-friendly materials and offers a climate-neutral shipping process, making it a convenient and environmentally conscious way to enjoy fresh Spirulina.

Greenhub

Greenhub is an innovative agritech start-up that specialises in vertical farming. Its GreenFarm OS platform uses data-driven technologies and AI to optimise plant growth, resource efficiency and crop yield. Greenhub’s systems offer modular solutions such as GreenPro for commercial production and GreenResearcher for scientific research, enabling scalable, sustainable farming. With a focus on sustainability, Greenhub's technologies aim to transform local food production while reducing environmental impact.

Acheron

Acheron is dedicated to transforming traditional livestock facilities into sustainable, high-efficiency food production systems. Their innovative approach involves integrating modular units for fish, vegetables, insects and microalgae into a machine-assisted circular process. By utilising AI-driven facility technology, Acheron optimises resource cycles, particularly those of water, phosphorus and nitrogen, thereby reducing environmental emissions and significantly boosting productivity.

BLUU Seafood

BLUU Seafood specializes in cultivated fish products. The company produces real fish meat grown from cells, eliminating the need for traditional fishing or farming. With Europe's first pilot plant for cultivated fish, BLUU focuses on creating sustainable, ethical seafood alternatives like fish sticks and fish balls. Their products are free from GMOs, heavy metals, and microplastics, aiming to address issues like overfishing and contamination while providing a more environmentally friendly option for consumers.
